All Groups Working in SFUSD Schools Must Register
The San Francisco Unified School District requires that all community organizations and City agencies providing services in their schools become a Registered Partner. Begin the process to register online at www.healthiersf.org
- Register online
- Attend a district orientation
- Submit a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
- Obtain an ORI number from the Department of Justice
If you have any questions about this process, or learn the next orientation date, contact: Rayna Coats at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415 522-6738.
SFUSD is using the online registrations to create a printed (and eventually a web-based) directory of CBOs that will be given to school principals and other senior school staff to help them understand the array of CBOs allowed to work in SF public schools.
Building bridges between public schools & community organizations
Ensure Your School-Community Partnerships are Valued as Keys to Success
The San Francisco Unified School District has a new 5-year Strategic Plan that any CBO working with the public schools should read and become familiar with. This year SFUSD is asking each principal and School Site Council (SSC) to identify goals for their students and families in the 2009-2010 school year and create a roadmap for achieving those goals. This new set of goals and roadmap is referred to as the school's "Balanced Scorecard". Community partnerships and the many services that CBOs deliver to SFUSD students—whether those services and programs take place on the school campus or not—need to be involved in this process of identifying goals, strategies, and measures of success for each school site. Act now to get involved in the SSC at schools you serve and ensure these partnerships are integrated into this important new planning process.
The Partnerships Committee and other have shared some examples of how CBOs can align themselves to the SFUSD's new strategic plan:
